2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 Design, Engine, Feature
The exceptional 2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 actually serves two game masters – riding enthusiasts and luxury enthusiasts. Surprisingly, this is the first attempt of the new Genesis brand to build a legitimate sports car. The 2019 Genesis G70 was immediately praised by all of us who entered behind the wheel.
Not only is it better value than the fixed class like the BMW 3 series, it is more attractive for driving and offers an equally outstanding experience. Genesis is also stunningly beautiful, with a sweeping structure that looks aggressive and prosperous. The 2019 Genesis G70 is available with a four-cylinder turbocharger or an optional V-6 organic turbo that sends power to the rear wheels or all four wheels. Each version works confidently while the driver is destroyed by an amazing cabin.
The 2019 Genesis G70 marks the first attempt to disrupt the entry category by Hyundai’s luxury Genesis, which builds the larger G80 sedan and the larger G90. Although this new sports sedan shares a platform with Kia Stinger, it is marketed to different customers. The 2019 Genesis G70 is an important step for Genesis to confirm its credibility to the world’s best luxury carmakers (see BMW and Audi, to get started).
2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 engine
The base 2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 2.0T has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger that sends 252 hp (255 in the manual) via an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
Light clutch pedal cushioned and change the gear pinion of excitation. In any case, the manual 2.0T player was more in range with the sport package. However, our hearts went to the 3.3-liter V-6 double-monster wheel that produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. We spent some personal time with the 3.3T rear wheel drive and we were exposed to a thrust wave that pushed it from zero to 60 in 4.7 seconds.
Regardless of the power train configuration, the 2019 Genesis G70 has balanced driving and driving characteristics. The suspension smoothed uneven surfaces and the sedan continued to refuel during hot turn sessions. The more powerful 3.3T features adaptive dampers that the driver can use to enhance ride if needed, but every G70 we’ve visited has done a great job of sending information to the driver. The steering notes are accurate and fun, with adjustable effort by switching between multiple driving modes. The Sport package above makes the Genesis sedan more sporty, thanks to the addition of clutch tires, which helped the rear version of the rear wheels test the impressive 0.95 g on the 300-foot skateboard. The 3.3T Sport is also equipped with a range of Brembo brakes that helped the sedan stop at 70 mph at 164 feet. During normal use, the brake pedal had a strong feeling and gradual responses to the introduction of the brake.
2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 Featured
With multiple power combinations and options for the rear wheels or all-wheel drive, the 2019 Genesis G70 setup contains many city and highway estimates estimated by the EPA. The 3.3T all-wheel drive system is the lowest rated at 18 mpg and 25 highways; the 2.0T rear-wheel drive with automatic transmission is the most efficient, with a size of 22 mpg and 30 highways. We tested three different versions of the Genesis sports sedan on a 200-mile highway fuel economy test road, and the results were very similar – despite the large power feature of the 3.3T. The 3.3T rear wheel drive we tested got 29 mpg. The manual 2.0T scored 30 mpg and got an automatic 2.0T with an all-wheel drive 31 mpg.
2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 Interior
Inside, the 2019 Hyundai Genesis G70 offers a luxurious experience, thanks to its attractive materials and excellent construction quality. Driver-oriented design and simple operation are for driving enthusiasts. The luxurious, transparent and safely stitched surface of our test car satisfies our rich side. Genesis also keeps things stylish by tilting them to avoid counterfeit carbon fiber parts and sticking a flat steering wheel into the cab. While the front seat is well balanced between comfort and sport, the rear seat is affected by limited legroom.
Each 2019 Genesis G70 is equipped with a standard infotainment system that touches the screen from the clean dashboard. The setup includes desirable features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the animation-like interface clearly comes from less Hyundai models and not from luxury brothers like the Genesis G90. The touch screen reaction was also slow during the test and our interactions were less intuitive than competitors with easy-to-use rotary controls.
We were able to put five compartment bags in the trunk of the G70 and fold up nine other rear-seat bags. The internal storage compartment has a handy drawer at the front of the central console and is perfect for smartphones and other small items. Unfortunately, the door pockets are small and have no central controller.
The 2019 Genesis G70 was awarded the Top Safety Pick + Award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the highest award awarded by the Independent Crash Test Agency. However, Genesis has not been assessed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The sports sedan has several standard driver assistance systems, such as cruise control on cruise with stop, stop and front collision with automatic emergency brakes. Important safety functions include:
Standard blind spot monitoring and rear crossing warning
Warning Lane Standard and Lane Assistant
Automatic standard beam headlights
