2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Design, Engine, Release date and Price
Why is the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 so special? For several reasons. The previous model was hailed as one of the fantastic Porsche. We know this because despite the depreciation of most cars, such as the Black Pound on Wednesday, the desire to own the previous GT4 – and the limited number that was available – was that the moment I took over the service, before going to sleep, the bear sleeps on the same pound on Macs Large.
The second reason is that while the rest of the Cayman range has four coarse and flat turbo engines, the GT4 unites the Cayman with some old-world charm: a naturally-inspired flat. And if you don’t “hurray!” Cries, some might say that you have a cold heart.
However, make no mistake in the charm of the old hat. This engine is extremely modern – an extended version of the current 911 engine that has been completely reformulated. Here, minus the turbine, produces a torque of 414 hp and 310 lbs.
To keep it in line with current and future emissions regulations, it is equipped with a soot filter and cylinder closure – the first basically collects soot, while the second means the engine can operate a light gas valve with only three cylinders to save fuel. As a result, the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 will produce 25.7 mpg and emit 249 g / km of CO2. That won’t make the Greens jump to buy one, but that makes sense for a hard-line sports car.
But you don’t want to know how effective it is, but how true it is, right? The answer is “full.” It will turn 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and have a top speed of 187 mph. To help him withstand more speed through turns, he follows his predecessor in obtaining a huge – but more efficient rear wing – along with other intelligent aerodynamic tools, including a rear diffuser. Everything is practical, not pink, and helps create momentum that pushes the custom Michelin GT4 tires to the ground for maximum control.
The most expensive 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 suspension comes with convertible adapters and standard-equipped dampers, and extended brakes. They can be upgraded for £ 6000 or so for lightweight carbon and ceramic discs.
2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Interior
Because the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is derived from the regular Cayman, it shares many of the excellent qualities of that car. The leadership position, for example, is almost perfect. It’s low (our car has optional bucket seats, but you can still adjust the height) and stretches your legs to meet the ideally positioned pedals. The steering wheel is compatible with both and has a wide adjustable range and height range.
This is not a sports car suitable only for riders. You will be fit even if you are 30 cm tall and blessed next to your matching twins, blessed with a lot of head and leg.
Of course, having two seats means that the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 has no place for anyone else, but it has two parts: one deep in the front and one shallow in the back. Not suitable for golf clubs, but there is enough room for various soft weekend bags.
What makes the interior unique to the GT4? Not much It is austere feeling, in an attractive way for a target machine. You can choose to make it more specific to the circle by removing the infotainment system – supposed to save weight – and adding the optional Clubsport package. This includes a rear cage, a fire extinguisher and a six-point harness for the driver rather than the standard seat belt.
2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Engine
Choosing a drive is relatively easy. There are only three; each has a turbocharger and has four cylinders.
The cheapest option is the 295-hp 2.0-liter petrol, while the S gets a 345-hp 2.5-liter unit. But even the standard Cayman 718 can run from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds when the 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox (or 5.1 seconds with a 6-speed manual gearbox) fits the S to just 4.4 seconds. As you would expect, both engines pull out strongly as soon as the turbocharger starts working around 2,000 rpm, but you get speeds in excess of 3,000 rpm and you’ll enjoy meat in the sandwich – a very strong acceleration of over 7,000 rpm. However, there are some unwanted flat points in power conduction, especially in the most powerful S variable.
